Strange attachments to cosplay: Grell Sutcliff

Grell. Grell. Grell. What can I say about Grell. Grell is apparently the only cosplay that makes me "sexy" how ever sexy you can be when your cosplaying a man who likes to dress up as a woman. I deny the entire thing no matter how hard Time tries to convince me otherwise. I love Grell no matter how annoying his hair is cause it's so long. It's a really Makeup oriented cosplay. In other words I go the whole nine yards when cosplaying Grell. I actually wear make up which is weird cause I only really wear it for the stage, I paint my eyebrows red and even put on false eyelashes like he does. I want to make his teeth sharp which I found a technique for that. That costume just kinda fell into place yin gave me her old rain coat and it was the first cosplay that I got a sweet prop for! And Rhyme was amazing enough to make my chainsaw for me! I honestly didn't like Grell from the beginning but the second he *Spoiler alert* turned into a Shinigami and his true personality showed *spoiler over* I quickly fell in love with him! Just how fruity he is just made me laugh and his personality is over all just so much fun to act out!

But that's not really my attachment to my Grell cosplay the real attachment happened at Shutocon. When I first walked in at Shutocon a group of people stopped and asked to take my picture I was really excited! That never happened to me before like yes at Youmacon people asked for my Misa cosplay for pictures but it was only a few Grell was like a whole bunch! I know I didn't really make the costume it was just a bunch of pieces put together that I had but still it made me really happy that people liked my cosplay so much that they wanted my picture! The other thing about Grell is that I got to represent the Shinigami world at the Hetalia world conference, it was such a delight! Also Grell talks in quotes from Romeo and Juliet! I LOVE SHAKESPEARE! I don't necessarily like to cosplay characters unless I can find some quality of them that I find in myself, and for Grell it's his love of Shakespeare and his over the top personality.

I guess I don't have a STRONG attachment to Grell but I still have an attachment none the less, he's absolutely fun to cosplay as! And I just enjoy it too much! I'm sorry if this journal wasn't as sappy as my Tamaki one don't worry there is one more sappy attachment to a cosplay I'm sure my friends can guess which one it is but they probably can't guess part of the reason. Any way that's it for now!
